On Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, the Scott College of Business welcomed 65 high school students from Project Stepping Stone of Indiana. Project Stepping Stone is part of the Escala Foundation. They help Indiana's Latino students prepare for college and beyond by introducing them to potential careers and providing visits to several of Indiana's leading college campuses and businesses. Indiana State University's Chair of the Board of Trustees, Mrs. Kathy Cabello, is the organization's President.
Kicking off their visit, President Curtis, Dean Terry Daugherty, and Professor Milton Soto-Ferrari discussed opportunities available at ISU and careers in business. They led students through an interactive new product development exercise.
"Engaging with Project Stepping Stone students has been profoundly inspirational. Their determination and resilience in overcoming challenges, matched by a thirst for knowledge, is a potent reminder of the transformative power of education. As a Latino professor, seeing their potential unfold fills me with immense pride and hope for our future," states Dr. Milton Soto-Ferrari.
Faculty from the College of Arts & Sciences (Dr. Lucy Campbell) and staff from both admissions and student life were also significantly involved during their visit.
