The Business Engagement Center and Scott College of Business hosted more than 75 high school students on Tuesday, October 11th, from Bloomington High School North and Terre Haute North for “Entrepreneurship Day.”
The special event delivered an engaging experience for students involving business education, hands-on workshops, and entrepreneurship presentations. ISU alumni entrepreneurs participating included Larry “LT” Thompson (Wellness Box), Bo Turner (BoCo Collective Marketing), and Jessica Weesner (Power Branding).
Numerous ISU representatives from the Career Center, Enrollment Management, Indiana West Central Small Business Development Center, and Mentoring Center also participated.
Jessica quoted Marie Forleo, when she said "Never start a business just to 'make money'. Start a business to make a difference."
She went on to say that throughout my discussion with the students I shared a number of experiences and lessons I've learned:
Business is like climbing a mountain 15 times. Focus on the one climb ahead, not climb #15. Don't get wrapped up in ALL that it takes to create the business of your dreams. Just take one action at a time.

You don't have to take 'no' for an answer. Simply get creative until you create your own 'yes'.
